CALL TO ORDER: The Prattville City Council met in public hearing on Tuesday, May 3, 2016
at 6:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall. Council President Wood called the meeting
to order. Roll was called and all Councilors were present.
1. RESOLUTION: To Grant a Retail Beer (On or Off Premises) and Retail Table Wine (On
or Off Premises) License to Autauga Creek Craft House d/b/a Autauga Creek Craft House,
LLC. (Sponsored By: Councilor Starnes)

Paige Stewart, 101 Lisa Court, Deatsville, applicant of the ABC license for Autauga Creek Craft
House, spoke in favor of the Resolution. Mrs. Stewart has spoken to several people in the
community and has found that there is a desire for an establishment like this in downtown
Prattville. Councilor Starnes asked what the hours of operation would be. Mrs. Stewart stated
that they would be closed on Sunday and Monday, open from 3:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. on
Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday and from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 a.m. on Friday and
Saturday. She explained that this would be a low key establishment with no loud music.
Martin Sweet, 1609 Trolley Road, Prattville, spoke in opposition of the Resolution. Mr. Sweet
voiced his concern that the establishment would be located in close proximity to P’Zazz Art
Studio, which sometimes caters to a younger crowd.
Tom Newton, 150 Pletcher Street, Prattville, spoke in favor of the Resolution on behalf of the
Historic Prattville Redevelopment Authority. Mr. Newton stated that the H.P.R.A. endorses
this business and believes that it will be beneficial for downtown Prattville.
Susan Sanders, 1101 Sycamore Court, Prattville, owner of Indulgence Salon, spoke in favor of
the Resolution. Ms. Sanders explained that for years her clients have asked her where they
could find an establishment like this one nearby. She stated that she supports this Resolution.

or Off Premises) License to Prattville Wharf Express d/b/a Prattville Wharf Express, LLC.

There being no further comments, Council President Wood closed the Public Hearing at 6:05
p.m.
