Minutes 2013-04-20 Special Meeting PRATTVILLE CITY COUNCIL CITY COUNCIL SPECIAL SESSION MINUTES SATURDAY, APRIL 20, 2013 10:00 A.M. The Prattville City Council met in Special Session on Saturday, April 20, 2013, at 10:00 a.m. at the Prattville Area Chamber of Commerce, 131 North Court Street. Council President Wood gave the invocation. Roll was called and Councilor Boles was recorded as being absent. Others present at the meeting included Mayor Gillespie, Finance Director Doug Moseley, City Planner Joel Duke, Executive Assistant to the Mayor Teresa Lee, City Attorney David McDowell, City Clerk Cathy Dickerson, Historic Prattville Redevelopment Authority (HPRA) President Tom Newton. Pratt Mill Partners, LLC was represented by Burke Lambert, Ken Gwinner, Jean Savitsky and Simon Tuohy. Also present were Harvey Clark and Allen Smith. The press was represented by Marty Rooney. Council President Wood recognized Council President Pro Tempore Striplin. Council President Pro Tempore Striplin expressed his appreciation to Mayor Gillespie and Council members for attending the meeting. The Continental Eagle manufacturing site is one of the most significant and historically valuable pieces of property in Prattville. Council President Pro Tempore Striplin expressed appreciation to City Planner Joel Duke and HPRA President Tom Newton for their dedication to this project over the past twelve months. Council President Pro Tempore Striplin explained that the attorney representing the property owner will allow the Council to tour the buildings and following the tour, the Council will hear an update from one developer. He expressed appreciation to the building owner, their attorney and others who have made the tour possible. Council President Pro Tempore Striplin moved to enter into executive session and Councilor Starnes seconded the motion. City Attorney David McDowell had provided a written statement to the City Clerk with an explanation of the need to enter executive session. The statement will be made part of the official record. All were in favor (6-0). The Council entered executive session at 10:02 a.m. At 12:50 p.m., Councilor Chambliss moved to reconvene into regular session and Council President Pro Tempore Striplin seconded the motion. All were in favor (6-0). There being no further business to come before the council, Council President Pro Tempore Striplin made a motion to adjourn and Councilor Brown seconded the motion.
