COMMENTS FROM PERSONS PRESENT REGARDING TONIGHT’S AGENDA: None
MAYOR’S REPORT: The Mayor acknowledged that the majority of our citizens are outside
enjoying A Main Street Christmas and the fruits and labor of the dedicated and hardworking
employees. He said he really appreciates the known and unknown things that have been done
to decorate our City for the Christmas Season. This is the last council meeting of 2020, thank
goodness of that, and Christmas is doing something a little extra for someone else. He thinks
that is exactly what we have done Downtown, and it is just like a Christmas postcard. He stated
that he is very proud of everything that we have been able to accomplish in our Downtown. He
shared a poem from Charles Dickins, “I live in the past, the present, and the future; the spirits
of all three shall strive within me. I will not shut out the lessons that they teach.” He will definitely
be taking this with him because 2020 has taught him so many different lessons, and he will be
glad when it is in our rearview mirror. He is looking forward to 2021 and working alongside the
council, our citizens, and our employees; we have a lot of work to do after the holiday festivities.
IN closing he said that we have accomplished a lot, and he sees a lot that is on our table to get
ready for the next calendar year and the rest of the quadrennium.
