Zoning Map Amendment
City of Prattville Planning Commission, Petitioner
January 20, 2022
Whereas, the City of Prattville Planning Commission has submitted a request to amend the zoning map
and create a new Downtown Overlay District as shown in Attachment A; and
Whereas, the subject property is located inside of the city limits generally described as the area along
South Court Street, West 3rd Street, West Main Street, South Chestnut Street, 1st Street between
Chestnut Street and Washington Street, and East Main Street from its beginning eastward to the Railroad
Overpass; and
Whereas, the purpose of the Downtown Overlay District is to assure new development, redevelopment,
and reinvestment in Downtown Prattville is consistent with its walkable, historic development pattern
and to promote a diversity of business, institutional and other compatible uses; and
Whereas, a public hearing on the proposed zoning map amendment was held by the Prattville Planning
Commission on January 20, 2022.
Now, Therefore, Be it Resolve~ that the City of Prattville Planning Commission hereby recommends
the zoning map amendment as shown in Attachment A.
