CC Minutes 2022.05.03PRATTVILLE CITY COUNCIL CITY COUNCIL MINUTES TUESDAY, MAY 3, 2022 6:02 P.M. The Prattville City Council met in regular session on Tuesday, May 3, 2022, at 6:02 p.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall. After the Pledge of Allegiance to the American Flag, Council President Starnes gave the invocation. Councilor Gornto entered the Council Chambers during the Pledge of Allegiance. Roll was called with all Councilors recorded as present. Council President Starnes declared a quorum and called the meeting to order. THE CHARACTER TRAIT OF THE MONTH IS COMPASSION: Investing whatever is necessary to show concern through words and actions. APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Work Session, Public Hearing and City Council Meeting April 19, 2022. Council President Pro Tempore Boone made a motion to adopt the minutes and Councilor Strichik seconded the motion. There being no discussion, the minutes were adopted (7-0). By Point-of-Order, it is necessary that Council rules be suspended if immediate action is to be considered. Councilor Striplin made a motion to suspend the rules and Councilor Chambers seconded the motion. There being no discussion, Council President Starnes ordered a Roll Call Vote for the suspension of rules. Mr. White pointed out the resolution regarding a lease agreement with ACIC did not include a dollar amount. Patrick Lucas, 1211 Caliber Crossing, spoke in reference to the draft map and his concerns that it was violating civil rights laws. Mr. Lucas spoke in reference to the ownership and upkeep of North Highland Park. CLOSING COMMENTS: Councilor Chambers welcomed Councilor Jackson back from a leave of absence. Councilor Chambers advised the amount ACIC would pay for leasing the property on West 4th Street was $1.00 per the agreement document. Council President Starnes advised the next City Council meeting would be held Tuesday, May 17, 2022, at 6:00 p.m. ADJOURN: There being no further business to come before the Council, Council President Pro Tempore Boone made a motion to adjourn and Councilor Gornto seconded the motion.
