Main Street for the Executive Department at a Cost Not to Exceed $211,200.00. {Council President Boone} 2.RESOLUTION: To Award Bid No. 023-014 to Smitherman Brothers Construction Company for Sidewalk Improvements Along Doster Road, ALDOT Project No. TAPMN-TA23(934), for the Engineering Department at a Cost Not to Exceed $379,460.00 (Net Cost to City Not to Exceed $75,892.00). {Sponsored By: Councilor Jackson} 3.RESOLUTION: To Award Bid No. 023-016 to Repower South Montgomery, LLC for Single Stream Recycling of Solid Waste for the Sanitation Department at a Unit Cost of $44.00 Per Ton. {Sponsored By: Councilor Chambers} 4.RESOLUTION: To Amend the Budget and Authorize the Release of Funds for the Purchase of Ten (10) Ford F150s through State Contract No. MA220000003121 from Stivers Ford Lincoln for the Police Department at a Cost Not to Exceed $419,033.00. {Sponsored By: Council President Pro Tempore Strichik} COMMENTS FROM PERSONS PRESENT: CLOSING COMMENTS: ADJOURN: The next City Council meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, October 17, 2023.     RESOLUTION 1  2  [To Authorize the Mayor to have Overgrown Grass and Weeds at 116 Abney Drive, 423 3  Summerhill Road and 122 Kingswood Drive Abated and Charge Any Incurred Expenses for 4  the Abatement Process Pursuant to Chapter 46 et seq., City of Prattville Code of 5  Ordinances.] 6  7  {Sponsored By: Council President Pro Tempore Strichik} 8  9  WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Prattville declared in Resolution Book 2023- 10  11  A, Page 193, that the abundance of overgrown grass and weeds at 116 Abney Drive, 423 12  13  Summerhill Road and 122 Kingswood Drive constituted a public nuisance and set a Public 14  15  Hearing on said nuisance; and 16  17  WHEREAS, the Autauga County tax records list the property owners as follows: 18  19   116 Abney Drive - O’Connell Elzora P with an address of 116 Abney Drive, Prattville, 20  36067, to Parcel Number 19 05 16 4 009 007.000; and 21   423 Summerhill Road - TL Investment with an address of 8631 Al Hwy 22, Maplesville, 22  AL 36750, to Parcel number 19 05 16 4 010 001.072 23   122 Kingswood Drive - Brumett Howard D and Tanya M., with an address of 122 24  Kingswood Drive Prattville, AL 36067, to Parcel Number 19 04 20 1 005 019.000; and 25  26  WHEREAS, notice was provided to correct, remedy or remove the overgrown grass and 27  28  weeds; and 29  30  WHEREAS, the owners of said properties have failed and/or refused to correct, remedy 31  32  or remove said nuisance by the expiration of said notice; and 33  34  WHEREAS, the owners of said properties did not file written objections with the City 35  36  Clerk’s Office within the time prescribed by City of Prattville Code of Ordinances, Section 46- 37  38  114 (c); and 39  40  WHEREAS, the City Council held the required Public Hearing at 6:00 p.m. on October 41  42  3, 2023, permitting the owners of said properties to present evidence, objections and protest 43  44  regarding said nuisance; and 45  46  WHEREAS, Chapter 46 et seq., City of Prattville Code of Ordinances, authorizes the 47  48  City to do such work or make such improvements that are necessary to correct, remedy or 49  50  remove such condition, pay therefore and charge any expenses incurred for the abatement 51  52  process to the owners of such properties. 53  54  NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Prattville 55  56  declares that the overgrown grass and weeds at said properties continued to be a 57  58  public nuisance at the expiration of the notice of violation. 59  60  BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor shall have the overgrown grass and weeds 61  62  at said properties removed using City forces or private contractors.
