WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Prattville declared in Resolution Book 2024- 10
11
A, Page 139, on June 18, 2024, that the abundance of overgrown grass and weeds 1308 12
13
Dorchester Drive, 300 Angela Street, 279 Gardner Road, and 1665 Buena Vista Boulevard 14
15
constituted a public nuisance and set a Public Hearing on said nuisance; and 16
17
WHEREAS, the Autauga and Elmore County tax records list the property owners as 18
19
follows: 20
21
• 1308 Dorchester Drive – Young Kevin A with an address of 1308 Dorchester Drive, 22
Prattville, 36067, to Parcel Number 10 09 32 1 000 007.081; and 23
• 300 Angela Street – Culpepper Deborah S & Stephen A with an address of 300 Angela 24
Street, Prattville, AL 36066, to Parcel number 26 09 30 0 002 009.000; and 25
• 279 Gardner Road - Colindres Yesser Jonathan Rosales & Mendoza Rosalia Marisela 26
Henriquez, with an address of 8 Mossey Lane, Millbrook, AL 36054, to Parcel Number 27
19 03 05 1 000 004.000; and 28
• 1665 Buena Vista Boulevard – Eastman David Edward with an address of 1665 Buena 29
Vista Boulevard, Prattville, AL 36067, to Parcel Number 19 08 27 2 000 002.164. 30

WHEREAS, notice was provided to correct, remedy or remove the overgrown grass and 32
33
weeds; and 34
35
WHEREAS, the owners of said properties have failed and/or refused to correct, remedy 36
37
or remove said nuisance by the expiration of said notice; and 38

WHEREAS, the owners of said properties did not file written objections with the City 40
41
Clerk’s Office within the time prescribed by City of Prattville Code of Ordinances, Section 46- 42
43
114 (c); and 44
45
WHEREAS, the City Council held the required Public Hearing at 6:00 p.m. on July 16, 46
47
2024, permitting the owners of said properties to present evidence, objections and protest 48
49
regarding said nuisance; and 50
51
WHEREAS, Chapter 46 et seq., City of Prattville Code of Ordinances, authorizes the 52
53
City to do such work or make such improvements that are necessary to correct, remedy or 54
55
remove such condition, pay therefore and charge any expenses incurred for the abatement 56
57
process to the owners of such properties. 58

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Prattville 60
61
declares that the overgrown grass and weeds at said properties continued to be a public 62
63
nuisance at the expiration of the notice of violation. 64
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor shall have the overgrown grass and weeds 1

at said properties removed using City forces or private contractors. The property owners shall 3
4
have the right to remove said nuisance at their expense provided that the removal is done prior 5
6
to the commencement of work by employees or agents of the City of Prattville; however, this 7
8
does not abolish incurred fines and expenses. 9

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED the Mayor shall keep an accounting of all costs related 11
12
to this request and report such costs to the City Council following its abatement. 13

ADOPTED THIS 16TH DAY OF JULY, 2024. 15
