SPECIAL CALLED MEETING
TUESDAY, JUNE 25, 2019
5:00 P.M.
The Prattville City Council met in a special called meeting on Tuesday, June 25, 2019, at 5:00
p.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall. Roll was called and Councilor Starnes was recorded
as absent.
Council President Striplin noted that the special meeting would have an abbreviated agenda.
The Council President thanked Councilors and City staff for their willingness to adjust their
personal schedules to attend this meeting. He further noted that this Council has not abused
the power nor authority that comes with called meetings, but occasionally there are unforeseen
circumstances that need to be addressed with expediency.
RESOLUTION: To Set a Public Hearing to Rezone Property Located at Rocky Mount Road
and Old Farm Lane from FAR (Forest, Agriculture, Recreation) to O-1(Office District)
(Petitioner: Southern District Church Extension Fund, Inc.). (Sponsored By: Council President
Pro Tempore Brown)

Council President Pro Tempore Brown made a motion to adopt the resolution and Councilor
Cables seconded the motion. There being no discussion, the resolution was adopted with the
following results:

STRICHIK, BOONE 5
NAYS : NONE 0
ABSTAINED : STRIPLIN 1
ABSENT : STARNES
Council President Pro Tempore Brown introduced the ordinance printed in Resolution Book
2019, Page 083. Council President Pro Tempore Brown made a motion to adopt the ordinance
and Councilor Jackson seconded the motion. By point of order, this ordinance was held until
its Public Hearing on Monday, July 22, 2019 at 10:00 a.m.
ADJOURN:
There being no further business to come before the council, Councilor Boone made a motion
to adjourn and Councilor Strichik seconded the motion. The meeting adjourned (6-0) at 5:04
p.m.
