PUBLIC HEARING MINUTES
TUESDAY, AUGUST 6, 2019

CALL TO ORDER: The Prattville City Council met in public hearing on Tuesday, August 6,
2019 at 6:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall. Council President Pro Tempore Brown
called the meeting to order. Roll was called and Council President Striplin and Councilor Boone
were recorded as being absent.
1. RESOLUTION: To Authorize the Mayor to have Various Weeded Lots Abated per Title 11,
Chapter 67 of the Code of Alabama, 1975, as Amended. (Sponsored By: Councilor Starnes)
No one was present to speak in favor of or in opposition to this resolution.
2. ORDINANCE: To Rezone Property Located at McQueen Smith Road from PUD (Planned
Unit Development) to B-2 (General Business) (Petitioner: DHS Holding-3, Inc. Representative:
Joe Turner) (Sponsored By: Councilor Cables)
HELD FROM JULY 2, 2019
Joe Turner, 511 Mossy Oak Drive, spoke in favor of this ordinance. This is a single lot and the
request is to rezone it to B-2(General Business).
3. ORDINANCE: To Zone Property Located at Old Farm Lane and Covered Bridge Parkway
(Parcel 19) to FAR (Forest, Agricultural, Recreational) (Petitioner: City of Prattville/Owners:
Alice Avant Wilson & Brentwood Landing II Apartments, LTD). (Sponsored By: Council
President Pro Tempore Brown)
HELD FROM JULY 2, 2019
City of Prattville Planning Director, Scott Stephens informed the Council that this property and
the property listed in the next ordinance were annexed into the City by Local Legislative Act.
The two properties are adjacent to one another. The reason they are broken into two requests,
is that they fall in different counties.
4. ORDINANCE: To Zone Property Located at Old Farm Lane and Covered Bridge Parkway
(Parcel 24) to FAR (Forest, Agricultural, Recreation) (Petitioner: City of Prattville/Owners: Alice
Avant Wilson and Brentwood Landing II Apartments, LTD.). (Sponsored By: Council President

No one was present to speak in favor of or in opposition to this resolution.
