PH Minutes 2019-01-03 PRATTVILLE CITY COUNCIL PUBLIC HEARING MINUTES THURSDAY, JANUARY 3, 2019 6:00 P.M. CALL TO ORDER: The Prattville City Council met in public hearing on Thursday, January 3, 2019 at 6:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall. Council President Striplin called the meeting to order. Roll was called and Councilor Starnes was recorded as being absent. 1. RESOLUTION: To Authorize the Mayor to have Various Weeded Lots Abated per Title 11, Chapter 67 of the Code of Alabama, 1975, as Amended. (Sponsored By: Councilor Starnes) No one was present to speak for or in opposition of the resolution. 2. ORDINANCE: To Rezone Property Located at Highway 82 at McQueen Smith Road from PUD (Planned Unit Development) and FAR (Forest, Agricultural, Recreation) to B-2 (General Business). (Petitioner: DHS Holding-4, Inc. & The William Howard Murfee Irrevocable Trust) (Sponsored By: Councilor Cables) HELD FROM DECEMBER 4, 2018 Joe Turner, 511 Mossy Oak Ridge, Prattville spoke in favor of this ordinance. Mr. Turner explained that this parcel of property was partially included when Homeplace did their PUD zoning, and it partially shows on some of the planning commission zoning maps as being included in that zoning, however it was not included. The Parcel is located between Hwy 82 and McQueen Smith Road, around The Meadows apartment complex. The parcel goes from the entrance in the back of The Meadows on McQueen Smith Road around to the front entrance on Hwy 82. The rezoning request in this ordinance is essentially tying up the loose ends. Jon Lee Finnegan, 211 Deer Trace, spoke in opposition of this ordinance. Ms. Finnegan’s concerns were rapid growth and heavy traffic in this area. Ms. Finnegan would like to see more than two entrances/exits from this property onto the main roads surrounding the property. 3. ORDINANCE: To Rezone Property Located at McQueen Smith Road South from FAR (Forest, Agriculture, Recreation) to B-2 (General Business). (Petitioner: Bryan Ward) (Sponsored By: Councilor Boone) HELD FROM DECEMBER 4, 2018 ORDINANCE BOOK 2019, PAGE 002 No one was present to speak for or in opposition of the resolution.
