PUBLIC HEARING MINUTES
TUESDAY, JANUARY 21, 2014
6:01 P.M.
CALL TO ORDER: The Prattville City Council met in public hearing on Tuesday, January
21, 2014 at 6:01 p.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall. Council President Wood called the
meeting to order. Roll was called and all were reported as being present.
AGENDA
RESOLUTION: To Grant a Lounge Retail Liquor-Class II (Package Store) License, to G
Mars, Inc., d/b/a Autauga Liquors. (Sponsored By: Councilor Starnes)
Mr. Larry Mott spoke against the license. Mr. Mott has owned property near this location
since 1969 and used to operate Mott Woodcraft. Mr. Mott stated that there have been enough
problems with traffic and liquor in this location and the addition of this establishment will be
a detriment to the neighborhood. Mr. Mott strongly opposed the granting of this license.
Mr. Gene Hall spoke in favor of granting the license. Mr. Hall stated that beer is currently
sold at Dollar General and that businesses are needed to fill vacant storefronts in this area.

There being no further business to come before the council, the public hearing was adjourned
at 6:06 p.m.
