PUBLIC HEARING MINUTES
TUESDAY, AUGUST 21, 2012
6:01 P.M.
CALL TO ORDER: The Prattville City Council met in public hearing on Tuesday, August 21, 2012 at
6:01 p.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall. Council President Mike Renegar called the meeting to
order. Roll was called and all Councilors were recorded as being present.
AGENDA
APPEAL BY MR. NEIL JACKSON REGARDING DILAPIDATED STRUCTURE AT
135 PIERCE LANE
Neal Jackson, 135 Pierce Lane, Prattville, stated that he had received a letter from the
Prattville Planning Department regarding his property located at 135 Pierce Lane. Council
President Renegar asked Mr. Jackson if he felt that the structure was not in poor enough
condition to be torn down. Mr. Jackson responded that it was not and that he would like to
repair the structure, but it is not practical to do so at this time. Mr. Jackson stated that the
structure does not meet current flood standards. Council President Renegar asked if anyone
was living in the structure and Mr. Jackson responded no. Councilor Brown asked Mr.
Jackson if he had a schedule on when he planned to repair the structure. Mr. Jackson
responded that he did not have the funds to do so at this time.
City Planner Joel Duke explained that this was a dilapidated structure that is more than 50%
damaged and is in a flood plan. Mr. Duke asked that action be taken to remove the structure.
ADJOURN:
There being no further business to come before the council, Council President Renegar closed
the Public Hearing at 6:09 p.m.
