PUBLIC HEARING MINUTES
TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 6, 2012
6:01 P.M.
CALL TO ORDER: The Prattville City Council met in public hearing on Tuesday, November
6, 2012 at 6:01 p.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall. Council President Wood called the
meeting to order. Roll was called and all Councilors were present.
AGENDA
1. RESOLUTION: To Declare Various Weeded Lots to be a Public Nuisance and
Ordering Their Abatement per Title 11, Chapter 67 of the Code of Alabama, 1975, as
Amended. (Sponsored By: Council President Pro Tempore Striplin)
No one spoke in favor or in opposition of the Resolution.
2. ORDINANCE: To Zone Property Located at U.S. Highway 82 at Constitution Avenue.
(Sponsored By: Council President Wood)
Joe Turner, representative for Dot and Jimmy Sanford and the rezoning of their property,
spoke in favor of the Ordinance. The Sanford’s property is located on the right hand side of
the golf course entrance, and extends up to the Legends Hotel and then down to the creek,
which acts as a natural cut off. The Sanfords are requesting to rezone this property to B-2, as
recommended by the Planning Commission.
An individual has proposed to build a multi-unit facility on this property, similar to the suites
at the Legends Hotel, to be rented primarily to groups and individuals utilizing the golf
course.
Legends Park is primarily zoned as B-2.

There being no further business to come before the council, the public hearing adjourned
(7-0) at 6:05 p.m.
