SPECIAL CALLED MEETING
BY TELEPHONE CONFERENCE
MINUTES
APRIL 3, 2020
8:20 P.M.
The Prattville City Council met in an emergency special called meeting on Friday, April 3, 2020
at 8:20 p.m. by telephone conference. Roll was called and all Councilors were in attendance
by telephone.
Council President Striplin, Mayor Gillespie, Mayor’s Executive Assistant Lisa Byrd, Finance
Director Daniel Oakley, Human Resources Director Lisa Thrash, Police Chief Mark Thompson,
Fire Chief Terry Brown, I.T. Director Jose Figueroa, and City Clerk Cathy Dickerson were in
attendance in the room. Marty Roney, Montgomery Advertiser, was present at the meeting.
Public Works Director Dale Gandy, Parks & Recreation Director Kellie Cook, and City Attorney
David McDowell were in attendance by telephone.
Council President Striplin thanked Councilors for their telephonic presence for this COVID -19
related emergency special called meeting. Council President Striplin noted that there was one
item on the agenda to address a city-wide curfew for the hours between 10:00 p.m. and 5:00
a.m. Councilors were asked to give their name as they seconded a motion or spoke. Voting
was handled by roll call to ensure that each Councilor’s vote was properly recorded.
AGENDA
1. RESOLUTION: To Authorize the Establishment of a Curfew for the City of Prattville to
Mitigate the Spread of Infectious Diseases.

Councilor Cables made a motion to adopt the resolution and Councilor Jackson seconded the
motion. There being no discussion, the resolution was adopted with the following results (7-0)
by roll call vote:

NAYS : NONE 0
ABSTAINED : NONE 0
ABSENT : NONE
There being no further business to come before the council, Councilor Strichik made a motion
to adjourn and Councilor Jackson seconded the motion. The meeting adjourned (7-0) at 8:21
p.m.
