PUBLIC HEARING MINUTES
TUESDAY, OCTOBER 6, 2020
6:00 P.M.
CALL TO ORDER: The Prattville City Council met in public hearing on Tuesday, October 6,
2020 at 6:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall. Council President Striplin called the
meeting to order. Roll was called and Councilor Cables was recorded as being absent.
1.RESOLUTION: To Authorize the Mayor to have Various Weeded Lots Abated per Title 11,
Chapter 67 of the Code of Alabama, 1975, as Amended. (Sponsored By: Councilor Starnes)
No one was present to speak in favor of or in opposition to this resolution.
2. ORDINANCE: To Rezone Property Located South of Sunset Drive and Honeysuckle Drive
Known as Midtown Oaks Plats 5 & 6 from R-2 (Single Family Residential to R-3 (Single
Family Residential) (Petitioner/Owner: Prattville Development Group, LLC). (Sponsored By:
Council President Pro Tempore Boone)
George Goodwyn, representing Goodwyn Building Company, spoke in favor of the ordinance.
Goodwyn Building Company developed the first four phases of Midtown Oaks, and would like
to move forward with phases 5 and 6. The homes that have already been built are a benefit
to the surrounding area. They are selling for approximately 50% more per square foot than
the older home in the area.
No one was present to in opposition of this ordinance.

There being no further comments, Council President Striplin closed the Public Hearing at
6:03 p.m.
