Minutes 2021-04-20 Work SessionPRATTVILLE CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION MINUTES TUESDAY, APRIL 20, 2021 5:30 P.M. The Prattville City Council held a Work Session on Tuesday, April 20, 2021, at 5:30 p.m. at the Doster Community Center. The meeting was called to order by Council President Jerry Starnes and all Councilors were present. Council President Starnes called the meeting to order. He announced this work session is to discuss the Council’s consideration for allocation of the one cent sales tax that will be sunsetting on July 31, 2021. The one cent sales tax brings in approximately $6.8 million a year. This tax can be designated to one, two, three or four departments, or bring the reserve account to $10 million, prior to any other projects. Council President Starnes noted this session is strictly for informational purposes. The Autauga County Board of Education and Ivy Classical Academy will each be given 30 minutes to make a presentation. He noted that there will be no action or vote taken this evening. Council President Starnes introduced Mr. Tidmore, Superintendent from Autauga Board of Education, to discuss the education needs for Autauga County. Mr. Tidmore went through a detailed presentation for consideration of the one cent sales Tax. Said presentation is attached. At the conclusion of the presentation, Mr. Tidmore held a brief question and answer period. Council President Starnes introduced Bradley Neave with Ivy Classical Academy, to discuss the education needs for the Charter school. Mr. Neave went through a detailed presentation for consideration of the one cent sales tax allocation. Said presentation is attached.
