PH Minutes 2022.07.19PRATTVILLE CITY COUNCIL PUBLIC HEARING MINUTES TUESDAY, JULY 19, 2022 6:04 P.M. CALL TO ORDER: The Prattville City Council met in Public Hearing on Tuesday, July 19, 2022, at 6:04 p.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall. Roll was called with all Councilors recorded as present. Council President Boone declared a quorum and called the meeting to order. 1. RESOLUTION: To Authorize the Mayor to have Various Weeded Lots Abated per Title 11, Chapter 67 of the Code of Alabama, 1975, as Amended. {Sponsored By: Councilor Starnes} There was no one present to speak in favor of this resolution. George Walthall, 216 Evergreen Street, Mr. Walthall spoke in opposition of the resolution and stated he was the owner of 902 Washington Ferry Road. He did not believe the picture depicted a weeded lot and has mowed the property since. He stated other issues were mentioned that do not come under the weeded lot guidelines and those issues are being addressed. Council President Boone advised the resolution pertained only to weeded lots and if weeds are abated before City forces are used, there would be no further action taken. 2. ORDINANCE: To Rezone Property Located Inside the City Limits along South Memorial Drive (Highway 31) from B-1 (Neighborhood Commercial) to B-2 (General Business) (Petitioner: City of Prattville). {Sponsored By: Council President Pro Tempore Strichik} There was no on present to speak in favor of or in opposition to the ordinance.
