Prattville building permits are issued subject to compliance with all requirements of the adopted building codes, zoning
ordinance, and all other pertinent laws, ordinances, and regulations. The issuance of a permit does not presume to give
authority to violate or cancel the provisions of any state or local law regulating construction or the performance of the
construction.
Building permit becomes null and void if authorized work or construction has not begun within six months of issuance, or
work is not completed within one year. Contact the Planning Department prior to expiration if a renewal is needed.
Individual trades (plumbing, electrical, gas, & mechanical) must pull their own permits and be listed on the subcontractor list.
Permit placards must be on site and visible from the time work begins until a Certificate of Occupancy or other final approval
is issued. An approved (stamped) set of building plans must be available for inspection on site at all times.
